Award-Winning Traceability

It is impossible to make an ethical choice if you don’t know where clothing comes from and how it is made. Very few people do these days, even high-street stores themselves. At Rapanui you can investigate the whole supply chain and find out the details about where this item was made, who made it, and how it got here, from Seed to shop. It is called traceability.

Ethical Low Carbon Organic

One out of every four mammal species in the world is a bat, yet these mammals are often misunderstood and undervalued. The National Bat Helpline is at the frontline of the Bat Conservation Trusts efforts to change this. In the UK, we have 17 species of bats that have babies (called pups) over the summer months. Pregnant bats and young bats learning to fly are particularly vulnerable to getting themselves into trouble. The National Bat Helpline takes well over 5000 enquiries about bats in need of help over the summer. We don’t receive any funding to give callers of this type advice or to administer the Bat Care Network.

We really hope you love this comic book inspired design t-shirt. It really echoes how we see the role of the helpline – a beacon of hope for bats. If someone finds a bat we want to be able to take the call, give them the best advice possible and then put them in touch with someone close by who are trained on how to rehabilitate bats and, when healthy, release them back into the wild. Bats really are undervalued heroes with each individual bat eating thousands of small flying insects every night. Bats should deserve our care and attention, however, negative attitudes towards bats prevail fostered by the media, folklore and films. This makes conserving bats difficult to fund. We work hard to raise the funds to ensure that the only true flying mammals survive and thrive. We hope you will join our us in helping our real caped crusaders.
